Review for Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken

Ok, so I just finished Ruin last night and I have to say, WOW! I mean The book has had amazing reviews on Amazon, and I absolutely loved The Bet by Rachel so I figured it was going to be great. But it was so more than that. It blew me away.
Fair warning to anyone that goes and gets this book, make sure you have a box of tissues and bottle of wine handy, your going to need them. The characters were very well built, as well as the story line. It was a great flowing story that will tear you in two. To be honest I even cried in the dedications (Yes, the book had me emotionally distraught). Don't let any of that discourage you from reading this book, because I am telling you it is going to the top of my list of best books of the year. Hell, it is in a category all its own. Weston Michels & Kierston Rowe are the couple of the century in my book. They just sizzle right off the page. The supporting characters Lisa & Gabe had me laughing every time they were around.

Go get this book now, go Flash fast to where ever it is you purchase you books. I promise you won't regret it!!!

Four Years Later - Cover Reveal

Have you read One Week Girlfriend & Second Chance Boyfriend? If so check this new book out by Monica Murphy!

Four Years Later by Monica Murphy:

Guilt. That is all I ever feel when I think about my mom. Now she's back in my life, always wanting something. Having her around makes it so easy for me to fall into those bad habits that get me into trouble. Skipping class, smoking weed, fooling around with girls that mean nothing to me...I'm messing up. The last thing I need is my sister on my case.

So I keep my mom's return a secret. But promising I'll get my grades back up on my own isn't enough. Fable makes me see a tutor. And Chelsea is the smartest girl I've ever met. She's definitely not my type but there's something about her that I'm drawn to. She's sweet, she's shy and she seems completely immune to my usual moves.

Chelsea has her own secrets and she's not talking. Like I have any room to judge. How can I get her to open up to me? And will I ever be able to convince her that what we have could be something real?

Trought Glass - Cover Reveal

So we love Rebecca Ethington's Imdalind series. So just goes to figure we are excited about her new book. Here is the Cover and book blurb!!

Through Glass by Rebecca Ethington:
Everyone remembered the day the sky went black. The day the sun was wiped from the sky. They remember the wind as it brought in the darkness; the way the earth shook and everything changed.

Everyone remembered the screams as the darkness ate those who were out in the open, those who had surrounded themselves by light, and those who made noise.

Everyone remembered the voice from the sky and the way food disappeared.

At least, that’s what I hoped. I hoped that there was an ‘everyone’ that would remember because I am not sure how many are left, how many survived. Or if anyone did.

I hoped that I wasn’t alone.

I remembered that day.

I remembered because it was the day I became alone.

It was the day that everything was perfect until the monsters took it away. Then the house went silent and the birds stopped singing. It was the day when everyone disappeared, everyone except the boy, the only person I have seen in two years.
The boy I talk to through the glass.

Our Camping Trip ~ What a Trip it Was

Well as you all know we have three wonderful kids a piece. (Ya we know WOW)
So while we are cooking the hubbys are watching the kids. It's camping so ya know looking at the fire and running around playing...
Nope! They decide that they have an idea.
Yes they are watching Despicable Me.
Yea, they are really roughing it aren't they. LOL

So, while they are watching the movie and the men sit in the background watching them, we are hard at work. We made this wonderful meal. It was simple and figured we would share it with all you wonderful people.

Ok, so here is what you will need:
  • 1lb of beef stew chunks
  • 1 green, red, & yellow bell pepper
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • Dale seasoning
  • McCormick Montreal steak seasoning
  • McCormick roasted garlic seasoning
  • Butter
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 5 lrg red potatoes
  • Aluminum foil
  • Cherry tomatoes
1) Everything is going into the aluminum foil, so lay out a good size piece.
Place your meat on the foil, pour some of the dale seasoning over it and add your salt and pepper. Don't add too much salt because the Dale is really salty.

2) Cut up your potatoes and them on top of the meat. Then season them with a tbsp of the roasted garlic.

 3) Cut the bell peppers and add them to the top.

4) Cut up your onions and the garlic clove, then place them on top.

 5) Top it off with your cherry tomatoes.
(They take in all the yummy steam!)

 6) Finally, add 2 tbsp of butter to the mountain of deliciousness with some salt and pepper. Wrap it up nice and tight, then place it on top of the fire. (Or the grill)
Leave on for about an hour and a half. Or until the potatoes are soft.

In the end when you take them off and let them stand for about 5 minutes, you will end up with a pile of goodness that will have everyone's mouth watering.

The good news is the kids got bored of watching tv when there was so much more to do. So they went frog hunting! We lost count of how many they caught but took a picture of the tiniest of them all.
Look at them. Aren't they soooo cute!!!
Once the kids finally passed out we played Quelf till 4 in the morning. Have you every played? If not go buy it because you will literally laugh more than you ever thought possible!!
Enjoy!!!!

Title: Steel Lily
Author: Megan Curd
Genre: Dystopian
Series: The Periodic Series
Rating: 4 Stars

We have to start out saying that this book was one that swept you away, literally! Megan Curd has created this world so different from ours. You get transported to this place, and you do not miss a single detail. The heroine in the story, Avery, starts out as a strong person in the beginning. As the journey continues, secrets come out, and tragedy happens! It just makes Avery all the stronger! Enter Jaxon Pierce. Cocky, full of himself, and full of sarcasm. But damn almighty what a sexy man. Just how sexy? Picture a young Jason Momoa! Yes, we know. Drool......
Ok, ok pick your jaw off the floor now ;)

These two together are like setting off a bomb. Explosive. (Yes, cheesy, but true!) As for the plot, it's thick and well built! Lies on top of lies come flooding out. The biggest lie comes out so unexpected, it might as well smacked you across the face. Neither of us have ever read a dystopian or steampunk book before. Needless to say, this has been added to our list of preferred genres now. We recommend this book to anyone, no matter if it's your normal genre or not!

I’d never seen anyone like him in Dome Four. His jawbone was strong, his cheekbones set high. His nose was regal and straight and when my gaze reached his eyes, my breath caught. Stormy blue-grey eyes that reminded me of shale returned my gaze with seemingly genuine curiosity, if not a bit of humor. Strips of colored fabric were woven into his dreadlocked hair, giving it a wildly unique appearance that suited him. His smug expression made me realize he was enjoying this.
“Are you finished checking me out? If you’re not, that’s okay; I allow every new woman I meet a free five-minute gawking period. After that, it’ll cost you.”
Blood rushed to my face. I tore my eyes from his magnetic gaze and watched as he took a worn leather strap off his wrist. He pulled back his dreadlocks–deep brown streaked with blonde–into the strap. His devilish grin pulled his eyes tight at the corners. He was trouble incarnate. Trouble I may very well want to get into, given the right circumstances.
“You’re at five minutes and thirty seconds now,” he said in a purr as he leaned in toward me. I felt his breath against my cheek, and my heart raced. “I’m going to start taking payment, and I choose how that payment is issued.”
Before I could respond, Alice stirred groggily beside me. She rubbed her eyes as she sat up. “Where are we?”
“Good question,” piped Jaxon. “One that your friend here failed to ask, but it could have been because I rendered her speechless with my good looks.”
Alice moved to get a better look at him, but he emphatically covered his face, as though he were a vampire trying to block the sun. “Don’t look at me!” he cried, then grinned as he winked at me. “I don’t want to make two ladies swoon in such a short period of time. How would I entertain myself tonight?”
“You’re not that handsome,” I argued mulishly.
“There’s drool on your chin. Either you’re physically unable to keep your mouth shut, or I caused you to forget how. Since when I found you, you were drool free, I’m going with the assumption that it was me.” He fished in his pocket and offered me a piece of white silk. “Here, a handkerchief for your trouble.”
